Second Piece of my Cloth

"Let the beginner of embroidery set up a piece of plain linen and practice sending the needle up and down without regard to design. When the hands are trained by this movement, mark out on the linen large squares and seek to send the needle up and down at will."

Here's my second piece, it's been damp-stretched:
I went a little frenzied with the French knots again.
Some cutwork. It will be backed with white.
And . . . below is the beginning of my third section. (Sorry about the photo, I had to take it at night.)
Puffy stuff! I hope to visit some of you this weekend! Love, Linda

  8. OMGOODNESS, you made THIS??? My mother used to do the most BEAUTIFUL embroidery work. She lived in Mexico for about two years with her BLIND GRANDMOTHER who taught her how to embroidery!! And she did similar pieces that you show here...oh how this is a fading but BEAUTIFUL ART! And I thank you for looking at my blog today, showing others!!!! That is so kind. ENJOY and do come back!     I can't wait to get going on my barely started cloth - we have been in process of moving! So I miss doing all this with our class - I will be far behind but catching up will be fun.
