Gabe Here . . . trip to Indianapolis

Well, we have to go see the Sadies' every year, so we did it again this year . . .
This time Patty went along.
Mom wanted her to sit in front, but she wouldn't.
She squashed in back with me.
We went through that long house again.
And came out the other side like last time.
We stayed in the room overnight. Patty was nervous.
She got in bed with mom.

The next day we got to the Sadies' house.
 This is Sadie Mae
 This is Sadie Rose
They remembered me and bossed me around as usual.
I was nice.
Patty liked them.
 I got on the sofa.
And I got to play with their toys. Patty chewed the nose off the penguin.
We all peed in the back yard.
Mom and Mary worked in the kitchen and we helped. They painted,
and put up shelves, and made curtains.
We had a pretty good time.
Then we came back home. I was glad to see my own yard again!

Gabe Here . . .

Mom got me a new bed.
She called it a Big Barker. I am that.
I got on it right away and took a nap.

Why does she keep taking my picture??
So, I like my bed a lot, especially with my blanket.
The other day, Patty got in my bed.
She looked ridiculous.
So I got in her bed.
My rear kind of hung out.
I don't know what mom thought was so funny.

Pink Squishy Bunny

Since it's almost Easter, I made a pink Squishy Bunny
for my Etsy store.
She is pink Minky plush in a rose, swirled pattern.
with a rosette tail and ruffled collar.
Sorry for the dark photos, but I wanted to list her last night
so these were taken on my ironing board.
This fabric is awful to sew, very slippery and it sheds everywhere.
but she turned out so cute.
She is already sold, but I plan to make more, I have
the white plush with dots as well.

Last fall I planted dozens of white daffodils. Stay tuned!

Below are hellebores. They bloom in the snow.

Shabby Spring Hearts

I'm making a new collection of Shabby Spring Hearts
I have a limited amount of pastel pink, green and blue fabric
with roses, and little checks.
The hearts will be embellished with white lace
and vintage buttons.
Each one is made by hand.

Here is the first two all finished.

Look for them in my Easy shop next week!

A Needle Case

I wanted to share the needle case I just finished
First, I assembled the materials and figured out the colors I wanted.
I decided to use some vintage hankies in pinks.
I pinned some together to see how they would look, then moved them
around until I found a design I liked.
I made some hexagons out of some of the leftovers, and appliquéd them. I made
a chain stitch around them, and lots of French knots.

I ended up cutting off part of the side, and liked it much better!
Here, it's all damp stretched, ready for the lining.

 All finished!
Here's the inside:
And . . . on to the next project!

Patty's Post

Hi, my name is Patty. I'm a golden retriever.
I came to live here last week.
I am 7 years old, and my whole life so far has been puppies!
All I've done my whole life is have them.
And my owner sold them to people who wanted puppies.
There were lots of other dogs having puppies there too.
Finally, I got too old and my owner gave me to the Delaware Valley
Golden Retriever Rescue. They gave me all my shots. Ow.
And they cleaned my teeth.
And they checked me all over and gave me x-rays.
I was fine.
Then they gave me an operation so I won't have any more puppies.
Thank goodness!
So, last week I came here to live. I am not used to so much space!
Sometimes I just go around in circles!
There is another dog here named Gabriel. He is my "mentor dog."
That means he shows me how to live in a house, go potty outside,
and play with toys. I never had any of those.
I'm getting good at potty outside, but when it was raining
and mom put up the hood on her coat, I freaked out!
She apologized and put it back, so I saw it was her and it was ok.
I still don't take a treat from her, but she puts it down, and it
is usually cheese, so I eat it then.
I jump at loud noises.
Don't even talk about the Horrible Vacuum Cleaner.
But I have a nice cushy bed to go and sit in
when I get scared. It's my safe place.
And I do get back in the corner under her dressing table, that's my
other safe place.
Life has been wonderful these last few weeks!
Love, Patty
