Ahhhhh, Summer!
Ahhh, summer!
It took so long to get here . . . now it's almost over.
My containers are all blooming,
A few of them could stand trimming!
Soon the tomatoes will be ripe!
Enjoy what's left of summer! Love, Linda

An Experiment . . .
I've been looking at those Stampington mags . . . you know the ones,
where they take nothing and make art out of it.
So, since I have a bunch of "cutter" lace,
and a couple of thrift store shirts,
I'm trying an experiment . . . tell me what you think:
(nothing is pressed or finished, so bear with me).
I cut the long sleeves off, and cut the collar off into a V.
I sewed some lacy pieces around . . .
and some lace around the collar.
I sewed a ruffle around the bottom . . .
(close up of ruffle fabric)
The back so far:
I was going to sew lace around the sleeve edges.
So, what do you think??
Should I cut off the sleeves and make it sleeveless??
Remove the ruffle??
Add the whole mess to my UFO pile??
Have a great weekend, Love, Linda

What's for Dinner
This is great for the very beginning of zucchini season (before you get sick of it).
four young zucchini (about 6 inches long)
Cut longwise into spears, place in baking dish and sprinkle with good olive oil.
Slice an onion into very thin slices and arrange over zucchini
Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese and bake
until zucchini is tender.
And for dessert:
Fresh peach pie!
Yeeeeees, the edges got a little brown (I was on the phone),
but it tastes good!

Marley Update
This is the longest I have gone without a new post since I started blogging!
Concerned about Marley D. Also, the computer crapping out and spending hours at the Apple Store whining. (I will say they fixed it fast and it was still under warranty, but what can be done without a computer ??? - just sayin')
I suggested that they need to promote a new marketing strategy:
"Buy one, get one free"
They just said heh heh.
So, I'd like to give you a Marley Update. . .
If you've been following, you know he has been very ill with
autoimmune hemolytic anemia
Today he started eating all of his breakfast and dinner, instead of turning up his nose halfway through.
He finally barked at a noise for the first time since he has been sick.
He is getting stronger going up the stairs, but he still waits for me to go up behind him in case he slips.
He is still taking 14 pills a day (down from 19)
He HATES pills
He won't eat hot dogs any more in case a pill is hidden inside, sorts them out of peanut butter and spits them out, and politely declines liverwurst.
(Sunny says fine with her!)
Any ideas on giving pills to a reluctant dog??
Love, Linda
